Paul Lesure, 81
STAMFORD, Vt. — Paul Rexford Lesure, 81, of Stamford, Vt., died Thursday, November 2, 2017, at his home.
He was born in Stamford, Vt., on December 27, 1935, son of Grover C. and Bessie Ellen (Brothers) Lesure. He attended local schools and graduated from the Drury High School. He was a veteran of the US Army from 1955 to 1958 and served in Europe.
Paul was employed by Petricca Industries as a heavy equipment operator for nearly 40 years until his retirement. He was a member of Local #98 of the Operating Engineers.
He was a member of the Stamford Community Church and the Masons Lodge of Jacksonville, Vt. Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing his guitar.
Survivors include his wife, Sally Ann (Spencer) Lesure, whom he married on June 7, 1956; two daughters, including Sally Jones of St. Clairsville, Ohio, and Deborah Alix of Pittstown, N.Y.; three sons, including David Lesure of Cheshire, Mass., Glenn Lesure of Vernon, Vt., and Walter Lesure of South Newfane, Vt.; 14 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Bernice Plantier of Pittsfield and Helen Shields of Rowe; three brothers, Richard Lesure of Brattleboro, Vt., Charles Lesure of Shelburne Falls, Mass., and Lawrence Lesure of Rowe; and nieces and nephews.
Five brothers are deceased, including Gordon, Gerald, Nelson, Floyd, and Ronald.
Funeral notice: The funeral for Paul Lesure will be Monday, November 6, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Stamford Community Church. Burial will follow in Millard Cemetery in Stamford.
