Ruth A. Bernardi, 95

CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Ruth Agnes (O'Neill) Bernardi, 95, of Clarksburg, Mass., died Friday January 5, 2018.

She was born in Williamstown on March 13, 1922, a daughter of the late Charles and Jessie (Beals) O'Neill. Ruth graduated from the former St. Joseph High School in North Adams and from the former Bliss Business College. She was employed for 42 years at the Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams.  

She a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church and was a longtime board of Directors for the Council on Aging. Ruth a devoted mother and grandmother.

Her husband Dominic "Bucky" Bernardi Jr., whom she married in 1946, died February 17, 1973.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna Briggs of Clarksburg, with whom she made her home; three sons, Richard "Bucky" Bernardi of Clarksburg, Ronald Bernardi and his wife JoAnn of Clarksburg and Dennis Bernardi of North Adams; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Ruth was predeceased by a son, William Walter Toniatti; two sisters, Agnes Booth and Margaret McClelland; and two brothers, Charles and Walter O'Neill.

Funeral notice: Funeral services to celebrate the Life of Ruth Bernardi will take place Thursday, January 11, 2018, at 9 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, Mass. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.

Calling hours are Wednesday, January 10, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested for the St. Jude Children's Hospital through the funeral home.
