Sherry Ann Hathaway, 49

STAMFORD, Vt. — Sherry Ann (Tatro) Hathaway, 49, of Center Rutland, Vt., formerly of Stamford, Vt., died on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. 

She was born in North Adams, Mass., on May 27, 1968, a daughter of the late John Leonard and Dianne Marie (Boynton) Tatro. Sherry graduated from Drury High School. She attended Springfield College, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work, graduating with high honors. She went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Bennington College.

Sherry worked as a dedicated Licensed Social Worker for Behavior Community Health in Rutland, Vt., for many years. She also worked for several years at the Allen Street Campus of the Rutland School District.

Sherry’s three children were the center of her life. Second to that, she loved riding motorcycles, spending time with dogs, going to the beach, and soaking up the sun any chance she got.  

Survivors include her three children, twins Nicoletta and Garrett Hathaway and son Huntter Hathaway, all of Center Rutland, Vt.; sister Melissa Jean Tatro of North Adams; brother Ronnie James Tatro of North Adams; as well as nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her former husband, Daniel A. Hathaway.

Funeral notice: A funeral service to celebrate the life of Sherry Hathaway will take place on Friday, February 23, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Burial will take place in the spring in the family plot at Millard Cemetery, Stamford, Vt. Donations in her memory can be made to the American Heart Association.
