Anita E. Kozma, 64
“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” 2 Cor 5:8
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Anita Ella (O’Dell) Kozma, “Pixie,” 64, of North Adams is in the arms of our Lord after a long battle with cancer.
She was born on December 30, 1953, in North Adams, Mass., and entered eternal life on February 22, 2018, at Berkshire Medical Center-Pittsfield.
She was the daughter of the late Ernest S. & Arlene (Lancto) O’Dell. Anita had a heart full of compassion and gentleness. She always listened to people’s problems and would try to figure out a way to help them. However, no one was immune to her argumentative spirit. If she believed in something, she didn’t back down without a fight and there was no question where she stood on things. One of those things being her belief in God. She said her greatest accomplishments include the birth of each of her children and marriage to her husband Philip Kozma.
She attended schools in Williamstown and graduated from Mt. Greylock Regional High School.
She is survived by her husband, Philip Kozma, and her three children Christi Shirk and her husband Brett, Theresa McElhone and John E. McElhone. She also leaves six grandchildren, Sophia, Charlie, Elijah, Alex, Lacey and Adrianna; a brother, John O’Dell of Florida; and a half brother, Michael Porter of Cape Cod.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Ernest O’Dell & Robert O’Dell.
