Kathleen M. Kandrach, 67

CHESHIRE, Mass. — Kathleen M. Kandrach, 67, of 76 South Street in Cheshire, passed away peacefully at home February 21, 2018, after a long battle with cancer.

Kathy was born April 27, 1950, to the late Conrad and Elizabeth Francis. She was a graduate of Chatham High School and Dutchess Community College. On March 17, 1979, she married the late John B. Kandrach, who predeceased her on July 1, 2007.

She went on to become a Registered Nurse and during her over 40-year career, she worked at the Crane Center and Columbia Memorial Hospital, and she was also a School Nurse at Hoosac Valley High School and Cheshire Elementary.

Kathy loved to work in her flower garden, and to travel the world. She also enjoyed taking care of her birds and animals that frequented her back porch.

She leaves behind her son, Joel Kandrach and his fiancée Crystal of Cheshire; niece Anne Salisbury and her husband Lance, as well as their two children Taylan and Kaiden; niece Jamie Egan and her husband Gerry; and her nephews Doug Feeney, Nicholas Healy and Christian Healy.

Funeral notice: Funeral services for Kathleen M. Kandrach will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2018, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, celebrated by Rev. Matthew Guidi, Pastor. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Dery-Cheshire Funeral Home.
