Ronn J. Cabaniol, 73

ADAMS, Mass. — Ronn Joseph Cabaniol, 73, of Adams, Mass., passed away peacefully at 6:55 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by members of his family.

He was born on December 1, 1944, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to his late parents August and Jeannette Cabaniol. Growing up in Rocky Hill, Conn., Ronn was instilled with an appetite for knowledge, eventually graduating with a bachelor's degree in Education from Keene State College and a master's degree in Liberal Arts from Wesleyan University.

You probably knew and remember Ronn for his passion for teaching the English language and classic literature at Mount Anthony High and Berkshire School for almost 40 years, inspiring and coaching students on the track, commanding the stage in repertory theater, wearing round glasses and bow ties, and adding his own twist of humor and wisdom to political and popular events. He was also an accomplished novelist, a dazzling pen and ink illustrator, a prolific poet, and a devoted husband to his college sweetheart, Susan, for 52 unforgettable years. In his own words, "I can truly say that I have faithfully walked the path of life that God bestowed upon me."

Ronn is survived by his wife Susan; his three children, son Darrell Cabaniol and his wife MaryEllen, daughter Aleisha Gibbons and her husband Brian, and son Chadlyr Cabaniol; and his four grandchildren, Evan, Katrina, Megan, and Grace.

Funeral notice: Ronn wished for his life to be celebrated with friends and family through songs and stories, which will occur at a later spring date. Services and burial for Ronn will be private, and at the convenience of the family. The Trottier Pringle Funeral Home in Adams is in charge of arrangements

Ronn's two published novels, Journey From Blue and Forgotten Angels, can be purchased at shop.harvard.com or Amazon by searching for "Ronn Jos Cabaniol." All royalties will go toward the Grace Susan Gibbons Education Fund. Donations toward the fund can also be mailed to 22 Manners Avenue, Adams, MA 01220.
