Daniel N. Gendron, 65
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Daniel Norman Gendron, 65, of Williamstown, Mass., died suddenly of cardiac arrest on Wednesday, June 13, 2018.
He was born in North Adams, Mass., on June 20, 1952. Dan grew up in Williamstown and graduated from Mount Greylock High School. He went back to school later in life to finish his bachelor of arts degree at MCLA, graduating with honors as a member of the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society.
As a lifelong entrepreneur, Dan built a long career around sales in both local and out-of-state businesses. After Dan returned to the Berkshires in the 1990s, he focused his entrepreneurial talents on a number of local businesses, including Gendron Computer Center, Total Access Computers and, most recently, Alternative Motors of Adams, Mass.
Outside of work, Dan was an active member in the Williamstown community. He was a Williamstown Selectman, he served on the Sign Commission and most recently he served as a member of the Finance Committee.
Dan loved antique cars and could often be seen driving them up and down Spring Street. Dan also enjoyed writing poetry and discussing politics, but most of all he loved his family.
Dan is survived by his two sons, Daniel Norman Gendron Jr. (Amy) and Gregory Lee Gendron (Amanda); grandchildren Haley, Tyler, Regis and Alice; siblings Sherrill McGowan, Wendy Gendron and David Gendron; and various nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Victor and Blanche (Girard) Gendron; and his sister, Carol Strzepek.
Funeral notice: A Memorial Mass to celebrate the life of Daniel Gendron will be held at Sts. Patrick and Raphael Church, Williamstown, on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at 11 a.m.
