JoAnne L. Ziaja, 80
ADAMS, Mass. — Mrs. JoAnne L. (Horton) Ziaja, 80, of Adams died on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at her home.
She was born in Adams on April 25, 1938, a daughter of the late Edward and Anita (Filiere) Horton. She attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams High School. She then went on to earn her Associates Degree in Accounting from Bentley College in Waltham.
Mrs. Ziaja worked as an accountant for the former Pfizer Corp., then later Specialty Minerals for many years until her retirement.
She had been a communicant of the former St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Adams.
Her husband, Robert R. Ziaja, whom she married on July 29, 1961, died on October 9, 2017.
She is survived by a daughter, Marianne McGreal and her husband, Paul, of Omaha, Nebraska; a son, Mark Ziaja and his wife, Debra, of Adams; three grandchildren, Patrick McGreal, Malina Ziaja and Anelia Ziaja; one sister Lisabeth Feustel and her husband Paul of Delmar, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Tuesday,, July 31, 2018, at 10 a.m. in the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.
Calling hours are Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires, 877 South St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
