Carole Ann DeGrenier, 77

STAMFORD, Vt. - Carole Ann (Giroux) DeGrenier, 77, of Stamford, Vt., died Friday October 18, 2019, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

She was born in North Adams, Mass., on August 25, 1942, daughter of Russell Wallace and Aline Hilda (Lameroux) Giroux. She attended local schools and graduated from the former St. Joseph's High School with the class of 1960.

Carole was last employed by Counseling Associates in Anniston, Ala., until her retirement. She and her husband lived in Florida and Alabama for 34 years until returning to the area in 2017. She had been a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.

Carole enjoyed quilting and knitting. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis Arthur DeGrenier, whom she married on March 15, 1975; one daughter, Karen Ann Tatro of North Adams; one son, David Loren Stokes of North Adams; two grandchildren- Allissa Robare and Travis Tatro; three stepchildren, Shannon Rangecroft of New Jersey, Chad DeGrenier of Clarksburg and Kurt DeGrenier of North Adams; eight step-grandchildren, Jordan Rennell, Lyndsay DeGrenier, Allison DeGrenier, Alexa Rangecroft, Cameron Rangecroft, Morgan DeGrenier, Chandler DeGrenier and Hunter DeGrenier; three great-grandchildren, Mason Rennell, Myles Rennell and Amelia Robare; three sisters, Linda Krabbee of Tucson, Ariz., Jean Ashley of Rotterdam, N.Y., and Denise Dorman of Tampa, Fla.; and nieces and nephews.

Dear Linda and family, Linda, I remember walking back and forth to Houghton School with u and Carole, also skating and playing at Kemp Park. We had some good times and nice memories with you and your sister, May she rest in peace, My deepest condolences. I just lost one of my sisters this summer, and know what you are going through. She will always be in your heart, My sympathies to you.
