William W. Wojnicki Jr., 70

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - William Walter Wojnicki Jr., 70, of 189 Kemp Ave. died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at North Adams Regional Hospital.

Born in North Adams on May 29, 1942, son of William W. and Helen Smith Wojnicki, he attended schools in Greece and England and completed a civil engineering and drafting degree with Franklin Institute.

Mr. Wojnicki was employed as a civil engineer with the commonwealth of Massachusetts. Before that, he had worked as a surveyor for the Bear Swamp Project. He also was a member of the Berkshire County Deputy Sheriffs Association.

He was a member of the American Society of Mineralogists; the Lepidopterists Society; and the American Entemological Society. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and sportsman. He was a mentor to many children in his neighborhood.

Mr. Wojnicki has no known survivors.

FUNERAL NOTICE - A graveside service for Mr. Wojnicki will be held Wednesday, March 20, at 9 a.m. in Southview Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Northern Berkshire YMCA in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA 01247.
