Richard J. Bressette, 87

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Richard Joseph Bressette, 87, of 37 Chesbro Ave. died Friday, July 12, 2013, at his home. Born in North Adams on June 2, 1926, son of William and Flora Morris Bressette, he attended the former Holy Family School. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Bressette was last employed at the Eagles Hall. He first worked for Morin Roofing and the former Green Mountain Race Track, and then as a truck driver for Arbor Acres. He was a communicant of the former Notre Dame Church and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 310 and the Williamstown American Legion. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees. He leaves his wife, the former Cecilia Baker, whom he married on June 30, 1948; a daughter, Brenda Noyes of Chatham; two sons, Kevin Bressette of Pownal, Vt., and Steven Bressette of Brewster; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. His son Dale A. Bressette died April 19, 1957, and his granddaughter Alicia Bressette on April 19, 1978. His siblings Marjorie Boucher Wheeler, Esther Bemis and Albert Bressette also predeceased him. FUNERAL NOTICE - A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mr. Bressette will be celebrated Thursday, July 18, at 11 from St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 17, from 4 to 7 atFlynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare of the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
