Richard L. Lefebvre, 83

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Richard Louis Lefebvre, 83, of 41 Taft St. died Sunday, July 14, 2013, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield after a sudden illness. Born in North Adams on June 30, 1930, a son of Joseph and Rachel Bessette Lefebvre, he graduated from the former Holy Family School and graduated with the class of 1949 from Drury High School. A proud and decorated Air Force veteran, he served as a sergeant during the Korean War. Mr. Lefebvre was employed for many years in the quality control department at the former General Photo in Williamstown. He was a longtime communicant of the former Holy Family Church and later of the Parish of Sts. Patrick and Raphael in Williamstown. He was a member of the Clarksburg VFW and the Williamstown American Legion. He took great pride in maintaining his yard and home and enjoyed spending time with family. He loved watching his children and grandchildren participating in their many activities and was often seen at their sporting events throughout the area. He and his wife, the former Joan St. Cyr, were married May 12, 1956, in the former St. Francis' Church. Besides his wife of 57 years, he leaves three daughters, Lisa Armstrong and her significant other, Chip Gardner, of North Adams, Leslie McConnell and her husband, Gary, of Virginia and Patrice Maynard and her husband, Jay, of Lanesborough; three sons, Richard G. Lefebvre and his wife, Diane, of Clarksburg, Daniel J. Lefebvre and his significant other, Marilyn, of North Adams and Jon P. Lefebvre and his fiancée, Susan, of Rhode Island, and nine grandchildren, Nick and Ben Randall, Seth, Allyson and Lindsay Maynard, Matthew, Tyler and Chelsea Lefebvre and Kayla Armstrong. FUNERAL NOTICE - A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mr. Lefebvre will be celebrated Friday, July 19, at 11 from St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown. Burial with military honors will follow in Southview Cemetery in North Adams. A calling hour will be held Friday morning from 10 to 11 at the church. Memorial donations are suggested for St. Jude Children's Hospital through Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA 01247.
