Eleanor M. Vivori, 88
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Eleanor Mary Vivori, 88, of 43 Harding Ave. died Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at her home.
Born in Colrain on Oct. 25, 1925, son of Hubert and Mary LaPierre Thibodeau, she attended Colrain schools and graduated from the Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls in 1943. She earned her bachelor's degree in 1947 and her master's degree in education in 1962, both from what was then North Adams State College.
Mrs. Viviori was an elementary teacher in the Adams public schools, retiring in 1981. She began her teaching career in Charlemont elementary schools and also taught in Greenfield, until taking time off to raise her family.
She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and the Massachusetts Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed gardening and reading and was an avid Boston Celtics fan.
Her husband, Joseph Arthur Vivori, whom she married on June 26, 1950, died on Dec. 17, 2003.
She leaves a daughter, Carol Vivori of North Adams; two sons, retired Air Force Col. Joseph Vivori and his wife, Peggy, of Macon, Ga., and Philip Vivori and his wife, Terry, of Clarksburg; three grandchildren, Colleen Vivori of Washington, D.C., Philip Bowen of North Adams and Jacob Vivori of Salt Lake City, Utah, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers Henry Thibodeau and John Thibodeau.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A memorial service for Mrs. Vivori will be held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 1 p.m. Burial will be private.
There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the North Adams Ambulance Service in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
