Alma M. Millard, 96

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Alma M. Millard, 96, of 45 Spring St., Spring Park Apartments, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at Williamstown Commons. Born in North Pownal, Vt., on Jan. 10, 1917, a daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Jenkinson Reynolds, she graduated from Drury High School. Mrs. Millard was employed at North Adams Regional Hospital, retiring in 1982. She had previously worked at the former Berkshire Hathaway Mills and former Wall-Streeter Shoe Co. She was a longtime communicant of the former Our Lady of the Incarnation Church and St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. She was a volunteer at North Adams Regional Hospital and a member of the Mary Spitzer Senior Center and Jollee Circle. She enjoyed spending time with her family and watching local sporting events. Her husband, Francis Edward Millard, whom she married in 1938, died in 1958. She leaves a son, Craig W. Millard and his wife, Ellen, of North Adams; five grandchildren, Bryan Millard and his wife, Katelyn, Emily Ennis and her husband, Mark, Sara Wilhelm and her husband, Preston, Carrie Kondel and her husband, Terry, and Erin Millard; seven great-grandchildren, Lilly Millard, Isabelle Ennis, Brady Ennis, Lucy Wilhelm, Preston Wilhelm, Kamilia Kondel and Kale Kondel, and a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Millard. She was predeceased by a son, Francis E. Millard, on April 30, 2008, and four sisters and two brothers, Lillian Flaherty, Florence Molinski, Eva Clow, Elizabeth Bergendahl, Joseph Reynolds and Arthur Reynolds. FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Millard will be celebrated Tuesday morning, Nov. 19, at 10 from St. Elizabeth Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday, Nov. 18, from 5 to 7 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St. North Adams. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the Francis E. Millard Memorial Scholarship or the St. Vincent DePaul Society through the funeral home.
