Ruth Mary Adams, 70

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Ruth Mary Adams, 70, of Apache Drive died Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in North Adams on Jan. 30, 1944, a daughter of Frederick and Ruth Sweeney King, she attended schools in North Adams. Mrs. Adams was employed for many years at the former Hunter Outdoor Co. and Williamstown Women's Exchange. She enjoyed camping, cookouts and spending time with her family. Mrs. Adams is survived by her husband of 49 years, She and her husband, Kenneth Adams Sr., were married on Nov. 7, 1964. Besides her husband of 49 years, she leaves a daughter, Cheryl Summer of Texas; four sons, William Adams of Pownal, Vt., and Kenneth Adams and his wife, Heather, Leonard Adams and Dennis Adams and his wife, Linda, all of North Adams; two sisters, Beverly Cloutier and Evelyn Ritcher, both of North Adams; two brothers, Joseph A. King of Williamstown and Ronald E. King of North Adams; 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sons Fred King, in 1999, and Keith Adams, in 2007, and her siblings Fred E. King and Shirley A. Gardner. FUNERAL NOTICE — Calling hours for Mrs. Adams will take place on Tuesday, March 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Memorial donations may be made to the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Company through the funeral home.
