Gary L. Drain, 55

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Gary Louis "Draino" Drain, 55, of Taconic Street died Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Springside of Pittsfield.

Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 14, 1958, the son of Daniel J. Drain and Irene P. Wehry Drain Demary, he was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1976 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

Mr. Drain had been employed by Petricca Construction for more than 20 years as a heavy equipment operator. He most recently had worked for Wm. J. Keller and Sons Construction at the Clark Art Institute until 2013.

He was a member of Union Local No. 98 for almost 30 years. He enjoyed camping, concerts, and spending time with his family and friends.

He leaves his loving companion of five years, Kim Tornicelli; his daughter, Keri Wade and her husband, Aaron, of Lee; his son, Michael Drain and his wife, Missy, of Maine; his sister, Kathy P. McKeever and her husband, Paul, of Lanesborough; his brother, Thomas Drain and his wife, Marlene, of Lenox; Tornicelli's children, to whom he was like a father, Jordyn Biagiotti, Baeleigh Biagiotti, Madisyn Biagiotti and Kaeleigh Tornicelli; two grandchildren, Liam, 6, and Logan, 3; his sister-in-law, Karen Drain of Cheshire; and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers Daniel Drain in 2007 and Conrad Drain in 2013, and his sister Bonnie LaLonde also in 2013.

FUNERAL NOTICE — Calling hours Mr. Drain will be Tuesday, June 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dery Funeral Home. Funeral services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA 01201.
