Florence R. Sears, 66
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Florence R. Sears, 66, of 27 Arnold Place died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at the North Adams Commons.
Born in Worcester on Oct. 24, 1947, a daughter of Stanley and Ruth Roberts Sears Sumner and Arnold Sears, she graduated from Mount Greylock Regional High School in Williamstown with the class of 1965.
Ms. Sears was last employed at the Lipton Mart in Lenox. She also had worked at the former Giant Store and former Hunter Outdoors Products.
She was an active volunteer for the Veterans Food Pantry.
Her husband, Charles Comer, died in April 2002.
She leaves include two sons, Sean Comer and his companion, Christina Daignault, and Keith Comer and his wife, Angela, all of Adams; three brothers, Arnold Sears Jr. of Dalton and Norman Sears and Michael Sears, both of Worcester; four sisters, Irene Hathaway of Pittsfield, Teresa Johnson of North Adams, Ilene Sullivan of the state of Florida and Diane Sears of Oklahoma; her stepsiblings Stanley Sumner and Linda Brown; five grandchildren, her daughter-in-law Tammy Sargent of Dalton, and her best friend, Pat Williams of North Adams.
She was predeceased by two sons, Jeffrey Sargent and Edward Sargent; her brother Ronald Sears and three stepbrothers, Harold, David and Paul Sumner.
FUNERAL NOTICE — At Ms. Sears' request there will be no funeral services. Burial will take place at a later date in Maple Street Cemetery in Adams. Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
