Chester N. DuPont Sr., 79

ADAMS, Mass. — Chester Norman DuPont Sr., 79, formerly of 136 Deer Hill Ave., Danbury, Conn., died Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, after many years of health challenges. Born in Adams in 1935 to Norman and Dorothy Loomis DuPont, he also had resided in North Adams and Williamstown. He graduated from the Lee Institute of Real Estate Brokerage. Mr. DuPont founded DuPont Realty Co. with his late wife, the former Dorothy J. Hillard. They worked together for many years in the family business. He had earlier been a professional photographer. He also had played the drums for Art Murphy's Combo, which specialized in big band music and, when the couple relocated to Danbury, he began his career in entertainment as a DJ, providing music for weddings and other special events. He had been a director of the former Northern Berkshire Chamber of Commerce and of the Berkshire County Board of Realtors, and a member of the Northern Berkshire Industrial Management Club. He will be remembered as a faithful and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, and will be greatly missed by his family. His beloved wife, whom he married Sept. 15, 1956, in Williamstown, died Jan. 22, 2013. He leaves a son, Chester N. DuPont Jr. and his wife, Deborah; a daughter, Candyce Magee and her husband, Stephen; a brother, Archie DuPont and his wife, Linda; six very special grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was predeceased by his grandson Samuel Magee. FUNERAL NOTICE — A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m. at Exeter (N.H.) Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Stephen Magee presiding. Burial will be at a later date.

So sorry to hear of your loss of your father. The DuPont house was always welcoming and full of fun when we were in high school. I am sure you will all miss him very much.
