Fay E. Beer, 87
FLORIDA, Mass. - Fay E. Beer, 87, of Drury died on Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at her home.
Born in Florida on Sept. 9, 1927, a daughter of Adrian and Tressie Burdick Poirot, she attended schools in Florida and graduated from Drury High School in North Adams. She also attended the former Bliss Business College. She was a majorette in the Drury and the former Charlemont high school bands and was a member of the VFW Drum Corps.
Mrs. Beer was employed at the former Gaevert Film Co. in Williamstown and more recently at the Eastern Summit Gift Shop.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Florida. She enjoyed playing the electronic organ, oil painting, knitting cardigan sweaters and baton twirling.
Her husband, Robert Harold Beer, whom she married on July 14, 1951, in Florida Baptist Church, died on Jan. 4, 2012.
She leaves her sister, Helen Sundquist of Maryland; two brothers, Milton Poirot and Alan Poirot, both of Drury, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased her siblings Norma Boucher and Stephen Poirot.
FUNERAL NOTICE - Graveside services for Mrs. Beer will take place in the spring at Florida Church Cemetery. Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
