Susan M. Taskin, 92

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Susan Myerson Taskin, 92, of 101 Chenaille Terrace died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, at Williamstown Commons after a short illness. Born in North Adams on Oct. 16, 1922, daughter of Nathan and Elizabeth Rose Myerson Carr, she attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School. In her younger years, Mrs. Taskin was employed with the former Gaevert Film Co. in Williamstown. She was a member of Congregation Beth Israel and an active member of its Sisterhood. She was also a member of Hadassah and B'Nai Brith. She was an avid bridge player and also enjoyed crossword puzzles, scrabble and reading. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family. Affectionately know as "Auntie," Mrs. Taskin will be remembered for her sense of humor and her vibrant personality. She will be dearly missed by her beloved nieces and nephews. Her husband, Harold Taskin, whom she married on Oct. 27, 1946, died on Jan. 28, 2001. She leaves her sister, Judith Diamond of Schenectady, N.Y.; her brother, Philip "Bud" Carr and his wife, Paula, of St. Augustine, Fla.; her sister-in-law, Edith Taskin of North Adams; nieces and nephews, Deborah Brooks and her husband, Don Feldman, Michael Towler and his wife, Jennifer, and Richard Taskin, all of North Adams, Allyson Grayman and her husband, Stephen, of Sharon, David Towler of Willmington, Vt., Nancy Towler of Schenectady, Beth Farber and her husband, Gary, and Karen Morneault and her husband, William, all of Windsor, Conn., and Howard Taskin and his wife, Jenny, of West Palm Beach, Fla., many grandnieces and grandnephews. Her sister Thelma "Temmie" Ilgovsky and niece Trina Clark are deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Taskin will be held Sunday, Dec. 7, at noon at Congregation Beth Israel, 53 Lois St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Beth Israel Cemetery. A Shiva Minyan will take place at the Taskin residence, 101 Chenaille Terrace on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Beth Israel or the American Cancer Society in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
