Ruth E. Wright, 92
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Ruth Elizabeth Wright, 92, of Deland, Fla., and a former longtime resident of North Adams, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015.
Born in North Adams on March 4, 1922, daughter of Clarence and Elizabeth Miller Hubbard, she attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1940 and from the former Bliss Business College in 1941.
Mrs. Wright had been employed by the former Arnold Print Works, former General Electric, Hunter Machine Co. and lastly by Parker Machine Co., retiring in 1985.
An active member of First Baptist Church, she taught Sunday school and was a longtime member of its choir and Women's Fellowship.
She leaves four daughters, Pamela Whitacre of Warrensburg, N.Y., Susan Miner of Orange City, Fla., Claudia Hunter of Deltona, Fla., and Marcia Brown of North Adams; a son, Robert N. Wright of Clarksburg; a brother, Harold Hubbard of the state of Florida; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two grandchildren, Robert E. Wright and Mark A. Brown, and her sisters Helen Cardillo and Dorothy Dickinson.
FUNERAL NOTICE &mash; The funeral for Mrs. Wright will be Saturday, Feb. 14, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Friday, Feb. 13, from 4 to 7 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals Wes t Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of North Adams or the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
