Agnes A. Yorke, 76

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Agnes A. Yorke, 76, of 29 Canedy Lane died Saturday, March 21, 2015, at home, surrounded by her family. Born in North Adams on Feb. 5 1939, daughter of Achille and Agnes Dalbon Righi, she was raised in Readsboro and attended schools there and in North Adams, including the former St. Joseph's High School, graduating in 1957. Mrs. Yorke was employed at H & R Block and Joanne Gagne Tax Services as a tax preparer for 35 years. She was a member of the former St. Anthony of Padua Church, now St. Elizabeth of Hungary. A devout Catholic, she attended Mass daily until she was no longer able to do so. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and baking and spending time with her family, especially holiday and weekly traditional Italian Sunday dinners with almost 30 family members attending at times. She accompanied her husband for many years on his fishing and hunting excursions. Her husband, David S. Yorke, whom she married in St. Joachim's Church in Readsboro on June 20, 1959, died April 10, 2014. They raised five children during their 54 years together. She leaves two daughters, Jane M. Crews and her husband, David, and Nancy A. Lewis and her husband, Michael, all of North Adams; three sons, Thane D. Yorke and his wife, Shannon, of Cheshire, David W. Yorke Sr. and his wife, Natalie, of Stamford, Vt., and Chris M. Yorke of Readsboro; a sister, Mary Ziemba of Middletown, Conn.; seven grandchildren, Joshua Yorke of South Korea, Adam Yorke of Cheshire, Matthew Yorke and his fiancée, Cierra Andrews, of North Adams, Nicole Rondeau and her husband, Gary, of Travis Air Force Base, Calif., Sarah Hurlbut and her husband, Kyle, of Clarksburg, David W. Yorke Jr. and his wife, Amanda, of North Adams and Calli Bacon and her husband, Jeremy, of Cape Coral, Fla., and eight great-grandchildren, PJ, Kolby, Ariana and Lucian Yorke, Gary and Ella Rondeau, Dakota Hurlbut and Hayli Bacon, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers Virgil, Julio, Angelo and Achille Righi. FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Yorke will be Thursday, March 26, at 8:15 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will be in the spring in Readsboro. Calling hours will be Wednesday, March 25, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations in her memory are suggested for St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church.
