Mary C. Pellerin, 88

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Mary Catherine Pellerin, 88, of 16 Ray St. died Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at North Adams Commons following a brief illness. Born in North Adams on Dec. 16, 1926, daughter of Patrick and Florence Veilleux Gaffey, she graduated from te former St. Joseph's High School in 1944. Mrs. Pellerin was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. for 33 years, until her retirement in 1988. Prior to that, she worked at the former New England Telephone Co. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. She enjoyed bingo, trips to the casino, computer games and playing cards. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her husband, Walter J. Pellerin, whom she married on March 5, 1946, died April 4, 1984. She leaves a daughter, Patricia Howland of North Adams; a son, Richard W. Pellerin of North Adams; a sister, Florence Del Signore of Pittsfield; five brothers, Donald Gaffey, Robert Gaffey, John Gaffey and William Gaffey, all of North Adams, and James Gaffey of the state of Florida; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Her son Walter J. Pellerin Jr. died in 2012 and her brother Patrick Gaffey died in the Korean War in 1950. FUNERAL NOTICE - A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Pellerin will be celebrated Saturday, May 16, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. A calling hour will be held Saturday morning from 9 to 10 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St. Memorial donations may be made to the Cure JM Foundation or in care of the funeral home.

I work with Mary in Sprague's for several years and she was one of the nicest people there. Always smiling and happy. RIP Mary
