William P. Cardimino, 83
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — William Patrick Cardimino, 83, of Cleveland Avenue died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015, at his home.
Born in North Adams on April 10, 1932, son of Joseph and Angelina DeCarlo Cardimino, he attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1950.
An Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he received the Purple Heart among his medals and commendations.
A longtime businessman, Mr. Cardimino was the owner and operator of Mohawk Auto Wrecking for more than 30 years until his retirement.
He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. He was a 56-year member of the North Adams Elks, and also was a member of the American Legion, the Masons and the Shriners. He also was a member of the Berkshire County Deputy Sheriffs Association.
He and his wife, the former Charlotte Joan Richardello, were married on May 30, 1960.
Besides his wife of 45 years, he leaves his brother, Robert Cardimino of North Adams; his sister-in-law, Sylvia M. Kipp and her companion, William Pierce, of North Adams; nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and his beloved dog, Jake.
He was predeceased by three sisters and four brothers: Mary Eurbin, Emily Tremblay, Rose Eddy and Joseph, Angelo, Peter and Anthony Cardimino.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Cardimino will be Monday, Sept. 14, at 10:15 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Sunday, Sept. 13, from 2 to 5 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires; St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church or PopCares, all in care of the funeral home.
