Mabel L. Hermon, 90

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Mabel Lillian Hermon, 90, formerly of 12 Aztec Drive, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, at North Adams Commons.

Born in North Adams on June 30, 1925, daughter of Harry and Lillian Deso Trombley, she graduated from the Drury High School.

Mrs. Hermon spent her whole career at the former North Adams Regional Hospital. She first worked as a switchboard operator and retired from the admissions department.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of North Adams and was a member and officer of Order of Eastern Star. She served on the board of trustees at the church and its Camp Ashmere.

Her husband, Gordon William Hermon, whom she married on June 11, 1949, died on Jan. 12, 2007.

She leaves her son, Robert W. Hermon Sr. and his wife, Barbara, of Davenport, Fla.; two grandchildren including Robert W. Hermon Jr. and Heather Lynn Baughman; four great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Three brothers and one sister are Her siblings Lorraine Vigna, and George, David and Gerald Trombley are deceased.

FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Hermon will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 11 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 4 to 6 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of North Adams in care of the funeral home.

Dear Bob, I'm so sorry about your mom. She was always the nicest lady. From when I worked as a volunteer at the hospital in her office, to being a sister member of the Eastern Star. Both she and your dad were special people, you should be very proud of them. Hope life has been good to you.
