Stacia Carlton, 93
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Stacia Carlton, 93, formerly of North Adams, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015, at the St. Teresa's Nursing Care Center in Manchester, N.H., where she resided at Bishop Primeau Senior Living for the last two years.
Born in Suffield, Conn., on Jan. 10, 1922, daughter of Fred and Felicia Lodega Zera, she graduated from Suffield Academy and the former North Adams Regional School of Nursing.
Mrs. Carlton was employed as a nurse at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington for several years.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker. She was a communicant of the former St. Francis Church.
Her husband, William C. Carlton, whom she married on June 6, 1942, died Nov. 27, 1982.
She leaves two daughters, Susan Chalifoux and her husband, Louis, of North Adams, and Geraldine Bednarz and her husband, Thomas, of Cheshire; a son, William F. Carlton and his wife, Cecile, of Nashua N.H., seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a grandson, Todd Bednarz, and her siblings Nell Leticia, Lena Delnickas, Marion Tower, Edward Zera and Alphonse Zera.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Carlton will be celebrated Thursday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery.
