Francis “Butch” V. Dubreuil, 78

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Francis “Butch” V. Dubreuil, 78, of Snohomish, Wash., died Monday May 30, 2016 at his home.

Born in North Adams, Mass., on March 12, 1938, he was lovingly known as Pepe. He managed the offices of Rodhouse and Robertson Income Tax Service and later became partner, offering years of tax services in the Berkshires. Previously he co-owned Whitney & Dubreuil Excavation and Stamford Solar Systems. He was also a “jack of all trades” which included carpentry, masonry and construction.

He was an avid reader, loved westerns, driving his car and computers, and he was always into the latest technology. He loved his projects, including building a 30-foot sailboat and an Eagle’s Nest home. He also volunteered his time at Sweetbrook Nursing Home and served as a volunteer fire fighter in Stamford, Vt.

Mr. Dubreuil enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1956 and trained at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He served as a Radio Repairman in Morocco, Africa and Cape Cod, Mass., until 1960. Upon being honorably discharged, he married Ms. Thelma M. O’Neil on October 29, 1960. They made their home and raised their family in Stamford, Vt., for 28 years.

Mr. Dubreuil was widowed in 1988 and is survived by a daughter, Frances Busa and her husband Bruce Busa of Heartwellville, Vt.; a son, Peter Dubreuil and his wife Jacqueline Dubreuil of Lanesborough, Mass.; a son, Philip Dubreuil of North Adams; a daughter, Elizabeth Dubreuil and her husband Eugene Lohrmeyer of Snohomish, Wash.; two sisters, Lorraine Seymour and Shirley Whitney both of North Adams; four grandchildren, Heather Collins and Hannah, Ethan and Ella Dubreuil; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and the family of Judith Grandfield, predeceased, a longtime companion formerly of Clarksburg, Mass.

Funeral notice: Celebration of life services will be arranged at a later date for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made directly to Hospice of Northern Berkshires or through the family Francis Dubreuil, PO Box 682 Lanesborough, MA 01237.

Recollections & Sympathy For the Family
Post Comment
We moved next to Butch, Thelma, and the kids in 1976. We felt welcomed immediately. Our home needed major renovations and Butch taught and guided me through everything I needed to know. He truly was a master of all trades and I depended on him heavily. We shared many happy moments with Butch and his family and will miss him.
