Barbara L. Crews, 62
ADAMS, Mass. — Barbara L. (Coope) Crews, 62, formerly of Adams, passed away on June 1, 2016.
Barbara was born on April 20, 1954 in North Adams to Helene (Lepine) and Edmund Coope. Barb attended Adams Public Schools, graduating in 1972. Shortly after graduation, she married Harold M. Crews Jr.
After providing child care for many years, Barb began working at the North Adams Post Office, retiring after 22 years of service. Following her retirement, Barb and Harold moved to New Bern, N.C., where Barbara worked part-time at Carolina East Hospital.
Barbara loved animals and children and was an avid gardener.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 43 years, Harold Crews; two children, Carrieanne Crews of North Adams and Harold Crews III of Adams; three grandchildren, Mickailynne, Jacob and Terra Crews; her mother, Helene Coope; sister Ann Clairmont; and many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
A memorial celebration of Barbara’s life will be held on Saturday, June 25, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Mohawk Room in North Adams.
