Gary A. Superneau, 54
CHESHIRE, Mass. — Gary Allen Superneau, 54, of Cheshire died Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at his home.
Born in North Adams on November 18, 1961, the son of Ronald G. and "Sue" Law Superneau, he was a 1979 graduate of Drury High School and attended Northeastern University.
Mr. Superneau was the business owner of Mount Greylock Bowl in North Adams. Gary had a lifelong passion for bowling, starting at age 4. He bowled eight 300 games. In 2007, he brought Pro Am to Mount Greylock Bowling. He had also worked as a land surveyor.
He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church. He was a corporator of the Adams Community Bank.
Along with Mark Wheeler and Jan Brady, Gary co-hosted the sports radio show, "Soup to Nuts." He was a die-hard sports fan, especially of the Vikings and Orioles. He enjoyed his annual trips to Myrtle Beach to play golf with his friends.
Mr. Superneau leaves his wife, the former Beverly J. Toporowski, whom he married September 6, 1986; his daughter, Shelby Superneau and her fiance Nick Gale of Adams; his son, Michael Superneau of Rocky Hill, Conn.; his parents, Ronald and "Sue" Superneau of North Adams; three sisters, Sandra Cote and her husband Steve of Clarksburg, Terri-Lynn Superneau of Adams and Julie Davine of North Adams; his beloved aunt, Inez Superneau of Cypress, Calif., and cousins, Bobby, Patty and Margie.
He was predeceased by a cousin, Debbie.
Funeral notice: Funeral services for Gary Allen Superneau will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m., at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, celebrated by Rev. Matthew Guidi, Administrator. Burial will follow in Cheshire Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Friday, July 29, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dery-Cheshire Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pop Cares or to the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter, both in care of the Funeral Home, P.O. Box 445, Cheshire, MA 01225.
