Thomas W. Belanger Jr., 77

ADAMS, Mass. — Mr. Thomas William Belanger Jr., 77, of Adams, died Thursday morning, August 18, 2016, at Williamstown Commons.

He was born in Warren, Vt., on March 21. 1939, son of Vivian (Mould) Belanger and the late Thomas W. Belanger. He attended local schools, graduating from Drury High School, and had served with the Massachusetts Army National Guard for 12 years.

Mr. Belanger first worked at the former Arnold Print Works in Adams as the superintendent of finished goods until the mill closed. He then worked as a quality assurance representative for General Dynamics Corp. until retiring. He had also worked briefly at Wal-Mart and the former Powder Shield Technologies.

He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Adams, where he was active with maintenance activities around the church buildings. He was an avid golfer and bowler, and enjoyed gardening.

Besides his mother, of Williamstown, he is survived by his wife, the former Linda L. Underwood, whom he married on August 28, 1981; three sons, Dr. Timothy Belanger and his wife Jennifer of Lenox, Michael Belanger and his wife Karen of Lanesborough, and Shawn Belanger and his wife Stephanie of Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Kathryn Heiser of Thornton, Colo., and Patricia Luczynski and her husband John of Williamstown; two grandchildren, Paige Belanger of California and Alex Belanger of Lenox; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Joan Brown.

Funeral notice: Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 11 a.m. in the First Congregational Church, Park Street. Adams. Rev. Michael Mullany, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be held privately at a later date.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Aug. 23, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams. Memorial donations may be made the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St. Watertown, MA 02472.
