Daniel G. Trudeau, 68
STAMFORD, Vt. — Daniel Gerald Trudeau, 68, a longtime teacher and educator of Stamford, Vt., died suddenly at his home on September 3, 2016.
He was born on April 26, 1948, in North Adams, Mass., a son to the late Edmond and Pearl (Beaudin) Trudeau. He graduated from Drury High School in 1966 and then attended Assumption College, graduating in 1970 with a History Degree. He obtained his teaching degree from North Adams State College in 1972.
Mr. Trudeau taught at Stamford Elementary School for 36 years. He was active in his community, serving as Town Lister and a member of the Stamford Volunteer Fire Department.
He was a loved coach of Stamford youth sports and North Adams Little League. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and rooting on his beloved New York Yankees. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams.
Survivors include his wife, Marie (Barry) Trudeau, whom he married in July 1972 at Our Lady of Incarnation Church in North Adams; two sons, Daniel E. Trudeau of Stamford, Vt., and Jeffrey E. Trudeau of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters-in-law, Angela Trudeau and Kristin Trudeau; six grandchildren, Jack, Brianne, Bella, Ava, Emmy and Keely Trudeau; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Daniel G. Trudeau will take place at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016, at the Flynn and Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main Street, North Adams, Mass. Memorial donations can be made to the Stamford Public Library through the funeral home.
