WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Marlene (Rossbach) Dube, 83, of Williamstown, died Friday, September 23, 2016, at Williamstown Commons.

Born on May 2, 1933, in New York City, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Nora (Quigley) Rossbach, who moved to Williamstown in 1934. The family continued to reside there except for two short stays in California in the 1940s. She attended the Walter G. She joined the staff of Pittsfield Radio Station WBRK in 1954 where she served in a variety of capacities for the next 26 years, starting in the continuity department and subsequently performing as traffic director, chief bookkeeper and office manager. She became well known to Berkshire radio listeners as hostess of "Woman's World," a children's story hour, a number of holiday features and "Speak Up," a telephone talk program. She also was a popular commentator for a great many area fashion shows. Later, she was employed for 12 years as director of advertising of New England Weather Associates providing commercial continuity for its New England network of weather phones until her retirement in 1993.

A member of the Catholic community in Williamstown, she was a long-time lector and Eucharistic Minister for Saints Patrick and Raphael Parish. She was a Notary Public of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 21 years.

She married J. Paul Dube, a native of Williamstown and a General Electric Company unit manager, on March 25, 1972 in St. Patrick’s Church.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her sisters-in-law Nancy McShane of Williamstown and Ann Sorel of Agawam; three nieces; two nephews, and a number of cousins in this country and in Ireland.

Her only brother, George Rossbach, died in 1990.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Williamstown Commons for their wonderful and loving support and care.
