Margaret Ann Madigan, 66

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Margaret Ann "Peggy" Madigan, 66, of 85 Bachand Avenue, The Spruces, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, in the emergency room of North Adams Regional Hospital after being stricken earlier in the day at her home. Born in New York City on June 9, 1935, a daughter of James Joseph and Catherine Hale Madigan, her parents died when she was a child and at the age of 5 she came to North Adams to reside with her aunt and uncle, Louis Michael and Margaret Ann Madigan Casuscelli, who raised her. She was educated in North Adams schools and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1953. She moved to Williamstown in 1991. Ms. Madigan was employed for more than 37 years with the former New England Telephone Co., first as a telephone operator in the Williamstown offices and later in Pittsfield. She retired in 1990 as a telephone supervisor in the Greenfield office. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church of North Adams and a Novena Devotee at Our Lady of Mercy Church in North Adams. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and a former volunteer with the Elder Services of Greenfield. She leaves her longtime companion, Kenneth A. Webster of Williamstown; her brother, Louis James Casuscelli of North Adams and nieces, nephews and cousins. A sister, Margaret Causucelli Nadeau, is deceased. — Funeral services for Ms. Madigan will take place 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday October 31, 2001 at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Shrine, 1270 Massachusetts Avenue, North Adams with the Rev. Daniel J. O'Hear, Pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Church officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at Park Lawn Cemetery, Bennington, Vt. Calling hours at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams are Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are suggested for the St. Anthony Building Fund through the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA, 01247, which is in charge of arrangements.
