Thomas R. Sheehan, 20

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Thomas Richard Sheehan, 20, of 133 Oak Hill Road died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, as a result of a two-car accident on Route 8 in Lanesborough.

Born in North Adams on May 20, 1981, son of Richard M. and Bonnie Tremblay Sheehan of North Adams, he graduated from Drury High School in 2000. At the time of his death, he was enrolled at Berkshire Community College in the entrepreneur program.

He was a communicant of Notre Dame Church. An accomplished motorcyclist and motocross rider, he competed throughout New England and New York and was a member of District 34 of the American Motorcyclist Association. He also enjoyed rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking and running. He hiked more than 1,000 miles on the Appalachian Trail, with the trail name Moto, and competed in the Mount Greylock Run.

Besides his mother and father, with whom he made his home, he leaves two brothers, Ryan Sheehan and Jon Sheehan, both of North Adams; his maternal grandparents, David and Florence Duperault Tremblay of North Adams, and his paternal grandmother, Elizabeth DeSanty Sheehan of North Adams.

FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Sheehan will be Monday at 8:15 from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church, North Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 4 to 7. Memorial donations are suggested for the Appalachian Trail Committee of the Berkshire Appalachian Mountain Club through the funeral home.
