Charles T. Hunt Jr., 76
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Charles T. Hunt Jr., 76, of 10 Cummings Ave. died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at home. He was the father-in-law of acting Gov. Jane Swift, who is married to his son, Charles T. Hunt III.
Born in North Adams on Jan. 3, 1926, son of Charles T. Hunt Sr. and Jesse Ellsworth Hunt, he moved to Williamstown as a child and attended schools there.
Mr. Hunt was employed as a crane operator for Member Local IUOE 98 and worked for several construction companies in the area, including Har Moore, Petricca and Krutiak, on projects including the Massachusetts Turnpike, Northfield Mountain and Bear Swamp Hydroelectric.
He was a member of White Oaks Congregational Church.
His first wife, Ruth Godfrey Hunt, died in 1986.
Besides his son and daughter-in-law, he leaves his wife, the former Eleanor Beverly McLain, whom he married in 1995; three daughters, Sharon Wetteland and Dolores Kornn and her husband, Ralph, all of Harrison, Ga., and Diane Hunt of Pittsfield; two stepsons, Joe McLain and Thomas McLain, both of Williamstown; a stepdaughter, Gail Bolza of DeLand, Fla.; a sister, Emma Archambault of Williamstown; seven grandchildren, Rebecca Love, Amy Rash, Emily Wetteland, Brian Hunt, Elizabeth Hunt, Lauren Hunt and Sarah Hunt, and two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Michael Rash.
He was predeceased by two brothers and one sister, Patrick Hunt, Richard Hunt and Katherine Speanburg.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Mr. Hunt will take place Friday at 11 at the White Oaks Congregational Church in Williamstown with the Rev. R.T. "Ty" Campbell, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the family plot in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 5212 West Main St., North Adams. Memorial donations are suggested for the VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the funeral home.
