Constance M. Caron, 77
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. â€' Constance Marguerite Caron, 77, of 1585 Massachusetts Ave. died Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 4, 2003, at home.
Born in North Adams on Feb. 27, 1925, daughter of Simeon A. and Aldea Marie "Della" Perrault Caron, she attended the former Holy Family School and graduated from Drury High School in 1944. She also graduated from the former St. Luke's School of Nursing in Pittsfield in 1947.
Miss Caron worked as a registered nurse in New Mexico, Michigan and Massachusetts for more than 40 years. She first worked at the former Hillcrest Hospital in Pittsfield, then at North Adams Regional Hospital until 1955. She was a surgical nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M., for two years. She later returned to NARH and worked on the surgical staff and as a nursing supervisor until her retirement in February 1987.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church, where she was a Eucharistic minister. She also provided ministry to nursing home residents. She was a member of the American Nurses Association, the American Association of Operating Room Nurses and AARP.
She leaves a brother, Wallace E. J. Caron of North Adams, with whom she made her home, and several cousins.
FUNERAL NOTICE â€' The funeral for Constance Marguerite Caron will be Friday, Feb. 7, at 10:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 at Our Lady of Mercy Church by her cousin Monsignor Richard Collette.
Burial will follow in the family lot in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday, Feb. 6, from 4 to 7. Donations may be made to United Cerebral Palsy of Berkshire County, Elder Services or to the Our Lady of Mercy Church Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
