Dennis P. Filiault, 55
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Dennis Peter Filiault, 55, of 442 Notch Road died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield after being stricken at Six Flags in Agawam, where he was chaperoning local altar servers and spending the day with his son, Tyler Filiault.
Born in North Adams on April 16, 1948, son of Helene Sharron Filiault of North Adams and the late Emile Filiault, he attended the former St. Joseph's School and was a 1966 graduate of the former St. Joseph's High School.
Mr. Filiault was employed by General Dynamics in Pittsfield as a test man for 37 years.
He was a communicant of Notre Dame Church. An avid supporter of several athletic groups in Berkshire County, he served as a stroke and turn judge and starter for several competitive swimming programs, and was a coach for the St. Francis' Church Youth Basketball League.
He was a devoted husband, son and father, and loved spending time with his family.
He and his wife, the former Jeanne Miner, were married April 12, 1969, in Notre Dame.
Besides his mother, wife and son, at home, he leaves two other sons, Chad Filiault of Salt Lake City and Justin Filiault of North Adams; and two brothers, Donald Filiault of Ormond Beach, Fla., and Robert Filiault of Thousand Oaks, Calif.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mr. Filiault will take place Friday at 9:15 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be today, Thursday, from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for the North Adams Little League through the funeral home.
