Mary N. O'Leary, 86
CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Mary Noela O'Leary, 86, of 24 Wheeler Ave. died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at North Adams Commons.
Born in North Adams on July 11, 1917, daughter of Henry Sorel and Mary LaBonte Sorel St. Pierre, she attended the former Notre Dame School and graduated from its commercial program.
During World War II, she was a nurse's aide for the Red Cross in North Adams.
Mrs. O'Leary had been employed as a check inspector at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams for more than 30 years, retiring in 1980.
She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church in North Adams, and a former member of the Golden Ages and the North Adams Senior clubs, and LeCercle Francais.
She and her husband, John F. O'Leary, were married July 29, 1967, in St. Francis' Church.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Ronald D. O'Dell of Bennington, Vt., seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son Walter H. O'Dell and her sister, Marion Sorel.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. O'Leary will be celebrated Thursday at 9 at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 8 until the time of the funeral Mass at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
Donations are suggested for the St. Francis' Building Fund or the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Department through the funeral home.
