Patricia Altiere, 84

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Patricia Altiere, 84, of 112 Gallup St. died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004, at North Adams Regional Hospital, where she was admitted Tuesday. Born in Altoona, Pa., on Dec. 28, 1919, daughter of Nicholas and Eva Fuscia Baliakos, she attended schools in New York state. Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Altiere was employed for many years by the former Hunter Outdoor Products Co. She was a longtime member of St. John's Episcopal Church. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her husband, Ferdinand Altiere, whom she married in April 1942, died Jan. 1, 1954. She leaves two daughters, Linda Primmer of North Adams and Eva Gould of Hays, Kan.; two sons, Fred Altiere of Bowie, Md., and Joseph Altiere of North Adams; seven grandchildren, Chelsea Wilk, Joey Altiere, Brodie Altiere, Scott Gould, Fred Altiere, Corey Altiere and Stacey Gould Smith, and a great-granddaughter, Denae Gould. Another son, Nicholas Altiere, died April 10, 1996. Her sister, Clara Baliakos, and brother, Peter Baliakos are also deceased. FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Altiere will be conducted Wednesday at 1 at St. John's Episcopal Church of North Adams by the Rev. Edward King, rector. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 10:30 to 12:30 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Memorial donations are suggested for St. John's Episcopal Church or North Adams Ambulance Service through the funeral home.
