Ingrid L. Dickey,71

CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Ingrid Louise Dickey, 71, of 100 Lincoln Drive died Monday evening, Feb. 28, 2005, at home after a long illness. A former longtime resident of North Adams, she moved to Clarksburg eight years ago. Born in Bad Reichenhall, Bavaria, Germany, on Aug. 28, 1933, daughter of Max and Ella Tunkel Greiner, she attended schools there. She emigrated to the United States in 1951 and attended the former Bliss Business College in North Adams. Mrs. Dickey was employed by the former Pierce World Travel Agency, now the Travel Store, in Williamstown, assisting with group tours. She retired several years ago. Earlier she had lived with, and worked for, her aunt and uncle, Hugo and Ellie Tunkel, proprietors of the former Joanne Bakers in North Adams. She also was employed by the former Berkshire Gas and Electric Co. She was a 54-year member of First Congregational Church in North Adams, a member of the North Adams Travel Club and an accomplished entertainer. She enjoyed knitting, reading, playing tennis, skiing, traveling, golf and dancing. She specially enjoyed being a loving grandmother to her grandchildren. She leaves a daughter, Krista M. Lincoln and her husband, Todd, of Clarksburg, with whom she made her home; two sons, Aaron D. Dickey of Southport, N.C., and Loren E. Dickey of Crane Hill, Ala.; two sisters, Erika Uchman and her husband, Michael, and Helga Berger and her husband, Ewald, all of North Adams; five grandchildren, Lindsay Lincoln, Ashley Lincoln and Cassie Lincoln, all of Clarksburg, and Jessica Dickey and Morgan Dickey, both of Charleston, S.C., and her former husband, David L. Dickey of Wrightsville, N.C. Her brother, Helmut Greiner, died in 1963, and her sisters Ursula Faust and Gisela Uhlitzsch died in 1974 and 2002, respectively. FUNERAL NOTICE — Services Ms. Dickey will be conducted Friday, March 4, at 11 at First Congregational Church, North Adams, by the Rev. Jill D. Graham, pastor. Burial will be in the spring in Clarksburg Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 at AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire Inc., Elder Services of Berkshire County or the First Congregational Church Piano Fund, through the funeral home, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247.
