Dorothy R. Blanchard, 86
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Dorothy Rita Blanchard, 86, of 28 Dover St. died Friday, June 17, 2005, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in North Adams on Aug. 10, 1918, daughter of Severe and Exilda Poulin Theberge, she attended schools there, including the former Notre Dame Parochial School, where she completed the commercial course.
Mrs. Blanchard was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. for more than 40 years until her retirement in 1983.
She was a communicant of Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur.
Her husband, Ralph V. Blanchard, whom she married on Aug. 20, 1938, died on July 6, 2002.
She leaves a son, Ralph V. Blanchard Jr. and his wife, Colleen, of Lanesborough; three grandchildren, Erik V. Blanchard of Los Angeles, Lindsey F. Blanchard of San Diego, and Matthew D. Trombley of Pittsfield, and a sister-in-law, Rita Theberge of Titusville, Fla.
Eleven brothers and sisters are deceased: Alfred, Robert, George, and William Theberge, Telesphore DuPont, Grace McConnell, Alma Mausert, Blanche Monette, Laura Lanoue, Eva Gilman and Viola Gamari.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Services Mrs. Blanchard will be Tuesday, June 21, at 8:15 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church.
Burial in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. Donations to Respiratory Department at North Adams Regional Hospital or American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
