Aline B. Parmenter, 84

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Aline Beatrice Parmenter, 84, of Valley Drive, Bridgeport, W.Va., formerly of North Adams, died early Tuesday morning, Dec. 20, 2003, at United Hospital Center, Clarksburg, W.Va. Born in North Adams on Aug. 31, 1921, daughter of Lucien and Florida Cote Roberts, she attended the former Notre Dame High School. A homemaker, Mrs. Parmenter also babysat in her home for a number of years. In North Adams, she was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. as a solderer and also by the former Hoosac Cotton Mill as a silk winder. She was a communicant of All Saints Catholic Church in Bridgeport. When she resided in North Adams, she was a member of Notre Dame Church and the Daughters of Mary Society there. Mrs. Parmenter cherished her role as a wife, mother and grandmother. She made her life's work spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren. She was a very happy and devoted homemaker. She leaves her husband, Earle Leonard Parmenter, whom she married Nov. 28, 1942; a son, Dennis David Parmenter and his wife, Diane, of Colonial Heights, Va.; a daughter, Candace Marie Dowell and her husband, Roger, of Fayetteville, N.C.; a brother, Lawrence Roberts and his wife, Theresa, of North Adams; a sister, Isabel Champney of Massachusetts; four grandchildren, Julie Donaldson, Jennifer Chenoweth Cutright, Scott Chenoweth and Jillana Chenoweth; two great-grandchildren Brittany Wilmouth and Taylor Chenoweth; three stepgrandchildren Sean Toombs, Sonya Toombs and Shannon Toombs. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard Roberts and Ernest Roberts. FUNERAL NOTICE — Friends will be received at BURNSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 607 South Virginia Ave., Bridgeport, W.Va., from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said in All Saints Catholic Church, 317 East Main St., Bridgeport, W.Va., on Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Harry N. Cramer as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Bridgeport Cemetery.
