Charles Henry Rarick Jr.

Charles Henry Rarick Jr., 78, of 10 Apache Drive, died yesterday at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in North Adams on March 8, 1929, son of Charles H. Rarick Sr. and Anna Markland Rarick, he attended local schools, including the former St. Joseph's parochial school. Mr. Rarick was a member of the Massachusetts National Guard for several years. He was employed by Pfizer Co. in Adams as a truck driver for 32 years, retiring in 1989. He was a bowler and was a member of several leagues at Mount Greylock Bowl. He also enjoyed golfing and was a former member of the North Adams Country Club and the Stamford (Vt.) Country Club. He enjoyed taking trips to Foxwoods. He and his wife, the former Loretta Brosseau, were married Sept. 18, 1948, in St. Francis' Church. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Diane Saunders; three brothers, Donald Rarick of Shalimar, Fla., Lester Rarick of Lakeland, Fla., and Edward Rarick of the state of Florida; a sister, Dorothy Oakes of North Adams; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Charles H. Rarick Jr., who died Tuesday, June 19, 2007, will be conducted Friday at 9 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. Calling hours at the funeral home are tomorrow from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested for the North Adams Ambulance Service, St. Patrick's Church Food Pantry or the North Adams Little League through the funeral home. He also leaves a son-in-law, William Saunders; three grandchildren, Ryan Saunders and his wife, Lynn, Tammy Barosso and her husband, Michael, and Tricia Saunders; two great-grandchildren, Madison Rosemarie Saunders and Christopher Michael Barosso. A sister, Edna Fidler, and a brother, Frederick Rarick, are deceased.
