Priscilla L. O'Neil, 56

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Priscilla Louise O'Neil, 56, of 312 Walnut St. died Saturday morning, Sept. 22, 2007, at home of natural causes. Born in North Adams on March 12, 1951, daughter of Lawrence H. and Alice Brayman Bennett, she attended Drury High School. Mrs. O'Neil was employed in the kitchen of the former St. Joseph's High School until 1972, when she became a homemaker. Before that, she worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. and was a waitress at the former Tally House Restaurant on Main Street. She was a member of First Baptist Church and of Take Off PoundsSensibly Massachusetts Chapter 229. A bowler, she participated in several leagues at Mount Greylock Bowl. She leaves two daughters, Shelly M. O'Neil and her companion, Michael Valotta Sr., of Adams and Cindy L. Cavanaugh and her husband, Peter, of North Adams; six sisters, Sharron Windsor of Pittsburgh, Patricia Brayman of Pittsfield, Alice LaFountain of Cheshire, Rosemarie Bassett and Helen Johnson, both of North Adams, and Mary Alderman of Lakeland, Fla.; three brothers, Lawrence "Paul" Bennett of Lakeland, Wayne Bennett of North Adams and Roy Bennett of Albuquerque, N.M.; her former husband and lifelong friend, Robert D. O'Neil of North Adams; and seven grandchildren, Michael Jr., Monique, Macy, Matthew and Megan Valotta, all of Adams, and Erica Lynn Dolle and Samantha Cavanaugh, both of North Adams; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Charlotte Bennett and Bertha Brayman, and by a brother, James Bennett. FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral to celebrate the life of Mrs. O'Neil will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, by the Rev. David Anderson, pastor of First Baptist Church in Pittsfield. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Alopecia Foundation in care of the funeral home.
