James F. McCarthy, 93
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - James Francis McCarthy, 93, of 150 Crest St., died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in North Adams on May 8, 1914, son of Arthur and Marion Harrington McCarthy, he attended schools in Williamstown.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the Army.
Mr. McCarthy was employed by the former Cornish Wire Co. in Williamstown for many years, retiring in 1976.
He was a communicant of St. Francis' Church. He enjoyed golf and was a member of the former Cornish Wire Golf League.
His wife, the former Josephine Wojieck, whom he married on Nov. 18, 1944, died Dec. 10, 1997.
He leaves three daughters, Barbara Keyes of Williamstown, Maureen Follett of North Adams and Joanne Gadebusch of Carksburg; two sons, James F. McCarthy Jr. of North Adams and Donald McCarthy of Worthington; two sisters, Ellen McCarthy and Marion Duncan
, both of Williamstown; a brother, Robert McCarthy of North Adams; 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Two sisters, Florence Scaia and Ruth McCarthy, and three brothers, Walter McCarthy, Carlton McCarthy and Gerald McCarthy, are deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE - The funeral for Mr. McCarthy will be Monday, Nov. 5, at 1 p.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 W. Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. Burial will be at a later date. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial donations may be made to Elder Services of Berkshire County in care of the funeral home.
