Anne F. DeMeo, 92
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. â€' Anne F. DeMeo, 92, of 85 Notch Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in North Adams on Feb. 27, 1917, daughter of Frank and Antoinette Scida Cariddi, she graduated from Drury High School.
Mrs. DeMeo worked at Cariddi Sales Co. and the former Sprague Electric Co. She was last employed by the city of North Adams in its payroll and billing department.
She was a communicant of the former St. Anthony of Padua Church and a member of its Rosary Society. She was a member of the Emblem Club. She enjoyed antiques and traveling, and was known for her cooking skills and charitable acts for neighbors and family.
She was predeceased by her husband Peter L. DeMeo, whom she married on July 6, 1940.
Survivors include a daughter, Noella M. Carlow and her husband, Thomas, of Adams; a son, Peter J. DeMeo and his wife, Lisa, of Haverhill; brothers James V. Cariddi Sr. and Joseph Cariddi, both of North Adams; sisters Mary Bergeron of Greenfield, JoAnn Maselli of Clarksburg, Jennie Tamasi of Schenectady, N.Y., Katherine Mogavero of Pittsfield and Frances Brown of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Jennifer K. Carlow of Adams, Elizabeth Ferris and her husband, Craig, of Clarksburg, Robert A. DeMeo and his fiancée, Meaghan Lane, of Newburyport, James M. DeMeo and Laura M. DeMeo, both of Haverhill, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers Ralph Cariddi, F. Pat Cariddiand Dominick Cariddi.
FUNERAL NOTICE â€' The funeral for Mrs. DeMeo will be Monday, Feb. 1, at 10:15 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Sunday, Jan. 31, from 3 to 6 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for the Anne DeMeo Teaching Scholarship for North Adams Public School Students in care of the funeral home.
