Elizabeth Demers Grande, 92
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Elizabeth Agnes Demers Grande, 92, of 546 Union St. died Monday, June 27, 2011, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in Burlington, Vt., on Jan. 18, 1919, daughter of Henry and Katherine Ryan Birch, she attended Adams schools.
Mrs. Grande was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. for many years until her retirement.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church and a member of the Sprague Quarter Century Club. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting and reading and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
Her husband, Anthony Grande, died on Oct. 18, 1997.
She leaves four grandchildren, Beth Morse Mantello and her husband, Nick, and Kathy Morse Mancini and her husband, Mark, all of North Adams and who were her primary caregivers, and Sally Morse Majewski and her husband, Brian, of Pittsfield and Tony Morse and his wife, Ann, of Barre, Vt.; five great-grandchildren, Joshua Mantello, Sarah Mantello Onorato, Katie Mancini Wales, Winter Morse and Drew Morse; three great-great-grandchildren, Carlie Mantello, Gabrielle Mantello and Joey Onorato, and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her children Elizabeth Morse, Margaret Demers and Russell Demers, and six brothers and sisters.
