Ada H. McLagan, 83

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Ada Hazel McLagan, 83, of 630 Barbour St. died Saturday, July 23, 2011, at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in Clarksburg on Oct. 2, 1927, daughter of Charles and Ethel Surr McLagan, she attended Clarksburg schools and graduated from Drury High School in North Adams with the class of 1945. Miss McLagab worked at the former Wall-Streeter Shoe Co. for 26 years until it closed and then by the former Sprague Electric Co. until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and enjoyed bowling and knitting. She leaves her sister, Jane L. McLagan, with whom she resided; nieces and nephews including Robert C. Rivard, Craig W. Rivard, Jack B. Rivard, Mark D. Rivard and Sandra L. Feder, and grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. A brother, Herbert H. McLagan, died in World War II and two sisters predeceased her, Ethel McLagan and Flora Rivard. FUNERAL NOTICE - The funeral for Miss McLagan will be Wednesday, July 27, at 11 a.m. from at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. A calling hour will be held Wednesday morning from 10 to until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to North Adams Ambulance Service in care of the funeral home.
