Raymond A. Duprea, 69
BENNINGTON, Vt. — Raymond A. Duprea, 69, of 594 Bowen Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center.
Born in North Adams, Mass., on May 19, 1942, son of Theodore Duprea and Beatrice Champagne Duprea Lincoln, he attended city schools.
He served in the Massachusetts National Guard for many years, retiring as a sergeant.
Mr. Duprea worked for many years as a truck driver for several area companies. He was last employed as an owner/operator of his own trucking business.
He was a member of the Bennington County Sheriffs Association and a former member of the Bennington Elks Club. He is also active in the local Boy Scouts.
He and his wife, the former Pamela Vachon, were married on June 10, 1988.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Kimberly Cravish and her husband, Peter, and Nicole Dearstyne and her husband, Robert, all of Pittsfield, Mass.; a son, Raymond Duprea II of Adams; four sisters, Frances Miles, Mary Robert, Eleanor Hill and Margaret Therrien, all of Adams, Mass.; five grandchildren, Timothy, Alicia, Kalee, Trista and Hayden, two great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers Gerald Duprea and Donald Duprea.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Duprea will be Friday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, 521 West Main St., North Adams, Mass. Burial will be Saturday morning, Oct. 15, at 10 in Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington, Vt.
Calling hours will be Friday from 4 until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association; the Make A Wish Foundation; or the charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
