Alice M. Pisano, 99
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Alice Mary Pisano, 99, of 1088 Old Mohawk Trail died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, at North Adams Commons.
Born in North Adams on Sept. 27, 1912, daughter of Joseph and Emma Gagner Grennon, she attended North Adams schools.
Mrs. Pisano was employed at the former Sprague Electric Co., where she worked for 36 years until her retirement in 1974.
She was a communicant of the former St. Anthony of Padua Church and a former member of its Rosary Society. She was a member of the North Adams Sons of Italy Lodge 704 and the Sprague Quarter Century Club. She enjoyed knitting, cooking and playing cards.
Her husband, Dominic Pisano, whom she married on May 20, 1928, died on Dec. 7, 1963.
She leaves 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeased by her two sons, daughter and their spouses, Genevieve Nuvallie, Joseph A. Pisano and Dominic Pisano Jr.; another son, Alphonse Pisano in infancy; her grandson Joseph Pisano and her five brothers Albert, Harold, Ernest, Joseph and Frank Pisano.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Pisano will be Friday, Oct. 28, at 10:15 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Thursday, Oct. 27, from 4 to 6 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth's Church in care of the funeral home.
